Rich & Creamy Vegan Hot Chocolate Recipe

I shared this recipe over on my Instagram a few weeks ago but I think it's too good not to post on here as well.

Most hot chocolates are full of sugar, dairy and hundreds of calories - however, it is possible to make a healthy, vegan-friendly version that everyone will enjoy. And it's so quick and easy to make that you've really got no excuse!

Here's what you'll need to make 1 mug of hot chocolate:

1 cup soya or almond milk
1 tablespoon raw cacao powder
Half teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Dash of cinnamon

Then all you have to do is blend or whisk all the ingredients together before gently heating on the hob or in the microwave!

I sometimes like to add a cinnamon stick to the finished product for a little extra winter spice.

Obviously if you're not vegan or don't have some of these ingredients you can customise this drink to suit your needs. Any kind of milk could be used, the turmeric and coconut oil can be left out and honey could used be a substitute for maple syrup.

What's your favourite hot drink for cold winter nights?
