On Wednesday I attended the London Health Show at Kensington Olympia, a trade exhibition for people working in all sectors of the health and fitness industry. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, network, learn new things and discover new companies and products to try.
I was so excited that I managed to get my hands on a press pass and as soon as I walked into the room I was like "I'm among my people!" Everyone was there for the same reason, because they're passionate about health.
It was actually a two-day event, spanning both Wednesday and Thursday, and you could attend either day or both. The show was opened with a speech by TV's Dr Christian Jessen (which I missed due to train delays, although I did spot him walking around the show afterwards).
Then there were some fitness demonstrations:
Belly dancing
Zumba
Plenty of speeches to listen to:
And some amazing food and drink to try!
Praana Tea
Tempeh chips
Paleo treats (which didn't last long)
and Kale-Os? More like Kale-OMGs.
I just want to take a moment here to talk about these kale crisps because they were my favourite find of the day. They taste so good (the sweet chilli & mint flavour is ridiculous) and they're completely guilt free - it's literally just dehydrated kale with natural flavourings. Everyone was all over them and I loved them so much I bought a whole box.
So was there anything I didn't like about the London Health Show 2016? Just two things: a 500ml bottle of water inside the venue cost me £2.20 (that's expensive even for London) and someone tried to sell me life insurance! Apart from that, I really enjoyed the day and am already looking forward to next year.
Thanks to Kate Skinner at Oliver Kinross for sending me a complimentary press pass for the London Health Show.
